If you’re at the stage of growing your collaborative practice, one of the best tools in the collaborative tool box would have to be your Elevator Pitch (a lift pitch doesn’t sound quite right).

An elevator pitch is a clear, brief, persuasive speech you use to spark interest in a project, idea or product – in this case Collaborative Practice. It typically takes about 20-30 seconds to deliver, i.e. the time it takes people to ride from the top to the bottom of a building in an elevator. When crafting your elevator pitch:
– Focus on the positives and outcomes
– Know your audience, and speak to them
– Give supporting examples
– 100 to 200 words is ideal, or four to five sentences
– Add your personal spin
– End with a ‘call to action’ – what next

Your pitch should excite YOU first. If you don’t get excited about what you’re saying, neither will your audience! And last but not least practice it out loud to make sure it flows and sounds conversational.

If you’re happy to share your elevator pitch, please go ahead, the elevator doors are closing…
