Sue Abrams – Director of Abrams Turner Whelan, an Accredited Family Law Specialist, Collaborative Lawyer & Mediator (2020 Doyles “Pre-eminent Family Law Mediator” NSW):

Family law mediation with an ex-spouse is probably the most important negotiation a couple will ever have. To reach the best possible agreement it is crucial that both parties are properly prepared.  Sue will talk about the things that lawyers can do to help their clients prepare for the mediation.

Julia Brierley – a Principal of Sydney Dispute Resolution, an FDRP, NMAS accredited Mediator, a Collaborative Coach and current CP(NSW) Board member:

Julia will discuss how the intake interview is an opportunity to assess the emotional readiness of clients prior to mediation and to gently begin a shift from entrenched positions towards common ground. She will talk about how, with the right preparation and support, clients can start to envisage a future where they can move past the dispute, while preserving important family relationships.
